Artist Lecture: Heather Bryant
Start Date: 10/16/2019Start Time: 3:00 PM
End Date: 10/16/2019End Time: 4:00 PM

Event Description:
Heather Bryant's work often illustrates encounters between beings, real or imagined, faced with the choice of accepting or rejecting each other. Heather states that there are opposing forces in her work - a struggle between vice and virtue, in being in this world, but not of this world. This struggle is a narrative, illustrative, surreal, world filled with anthropocentric beasts. It seems to exist somewhere in that moment that we all find between dream and wakening. The work reveals a subconscious space where we struggle to belong – where the primal forces of our own mind’s mythologies and images can come in contact with our waking life and we somehow must strive to resolve them.
